Where do you live after the White House? It’s a difficult act to follow, but an lavish nine bedroom, eight-and-a-half bath mansion with manicured gardens ought to do the trick.

The Obama family leased this stunning Tudor house in Washington, D.C.’s Kalorama neighborhood after they left the White house in January 2017, so Sasha could complete her last two years of high school. The estate was built in 1928 and is reportedly owned by Joe Lockhart, who served as White house press secretary under former U.S. president bill Clinton.

While it’s no White House, this home is definitely fit for a president. It’s no wonder the family recently purchased the property for $8.1M. Click through to see the spectacular estate!

The 8,200-square-foot brick Tudor sits in one of the the capital’s many upscale neighborhoods.

Gates surround the estate where manicured gardens and marble fountains dress up the property.

Traditional details, like crown molding and ceiling-height drapery, give the great room a stately stature.

A perfectly orchestrated fireplace is the centerpiece in the great room, with symmetrical sconces and a beautiful painting that draws attention to the space.

A large marble-topped island doubles as a breakfast bar in this all-white gourmet kitchen, where healthy eating advocate Michelle Obama is sure to spend a lot of her time.

Two ovens and six burners make up the large stainless steel range. Black-painted window frames add edge to the white subway tile backsplash.

The house has a second kitchen, which comes complete with its own fridge, stove and oven, as well as a washer and dryer.

A rather trendy butler’s pantry is located off the living room.

A round dining table takes center stage in this champagne-toned space, where daily Obama family dinners will take place, we suspect.

The family room is just as grand as the great room. large french doors result in a manicured lawn.

Muted neutral tones continue in this small seating area, which looks like the ideal spot to kick back with a good book.

An exposed wood staircase leads to the upstairs.

Michelle and Barack’s post-presidential master bedroom is pretty sweet, featuring two bathrooms, a sitting area and classic Tudor-style windows.

Marble subway tiles cover the lower half of the master bathroom’s walls. No master suite is complete without a large walk-in closet  — especially when the lady of the house has garnered a rather large collection of designer clothes over the years.

It’s no White house office, but this small space has an executive feel to it.

The Obama’s are known to prioritize health and exercise, so an in-house gym is an apparent must.

Simple in design, this bedroom would be ideal for Sasha and Malia’s friends during sleepovers!

The home has a fully-furnished finished basement.

The expansive backyard features an elevated lawn with lounge chairs — the supreme spot to unwind after eight years of presidency!
